Bolthorn AL are a band which would definitely deserve way wider success and dimensions and this EP is another proof of it. 42 minutes that easily blow away good part of the recent black scene. Welcome back guys, only respect and deep admiration for your music Favorite track: Ýrr.

H.L. This is not just an ordinary epic black metal album, "Hermalausaz" is a monument of majestic darkness and elaborated songwriting. Both tracks are soulful journeys and intense audio trips. They are definitely no easy listening and maybe not suitable in every situation, but when you look for an ambitious opus and you have the time to deep-dive into honest, well arranged, multi-faceted extreme music, you should spend 40 minutes for this masterpiece! Favorite track: Ýrr.

about

On 21.12.2023, Árstíðir lífsins return with their much anticipated EP entitled ‘Hermalausaz’m.
The EP features two extensive songs with a total playing time of over 40 minutes.
Similar to previous releases, ‘Hermalausaz’ contains both modern and classic Black Metal elements, ambient archaic folklore patterns, supported by dark chants and classical instruments. The lyrics are written in Old Norse poetic form and are highly inspired by the cryptic runic inscription of the western Norwegian Eggja rune stone, as well as selected Skaldic poetry.

‘Hermalausaz’ was composed and recorded in Norway, Sweden and Germany in 2022 and mixed and mastered in September 2022 by Markus Stock at Studio E, Mellrichstadt, Germany.
The layout was done by Christopher Duis (eingemachtes.net).
